Enrolling in GET is easy and only takes a few minutes. Just follow the steps to set up your account. You can choose how many units you want to buy, then set up a one-time electronic payment, initiate automatic recurring payments, or send us a check or money order to get your account started. It’s that easy. You can view your account status and change certain account information online whenever it’s convenient for you. You will need the following information:
- About you (Account Owner) Social Security number and contact information, including email address
- About your student (Beneficiary) Social Security number, contact information, date of birth and projected benefit use year
- Banking information Bank account numbers and/or login credentials for setting up online payments
Additional enrollment information
Review the GET Program Details Booklet thoroughly before you enroll. After you enroll, you will receive a welcome email confirming your enrollment within two weeks. If you plan to make your payments by paper check and request a coupon book, your coupon book will follow within a few weeks. Typically, you will be able to view your account details online within ten business days.

Opening an account
November 1, 2023 The 2023-2024 enrollment year begins. You can open an account and add units at the $120.16 unit price. - May 31, 2024 The 2023-2024 enrollment year ends. If you enroll online, you must complete your enrollment by midnight PT on May 31. If you enroll by mail, your enrollment form must be postmarked by May 31.
Online enrollment gets congested during the final week of the enrollment period. To avoid frustration, please enroll early.
Buying units for your account (if you open your account on or before May 31, 2024)
- June 25, 2024 We must receive your payment by June 25 to ensure any Units are purchased at the $120.16 price. Any payments received after this date may not be processed before the June 30 unit purchase price deadline, and we will post it at the Unit Purchase Price in effect for the 2024-2025 Enrollment Period.
- July 1, 2024 Any new units purchased beginning on this date are subject to the 2024-2025 GET unit price (which could be different than this year’s price) once set by the WA529 Committee. Call our Contact Center for details.
Enrollment dates and unit price for 2024-2025
Annually, the program will announce an enrollment period. The WA529 Committee sets the unit purchase price annually and may also adjust the unit purchase price once during the year, if necessary, to ensure the actuarial soundness of the program. The dates for the 2024-2025 enrollment period and the corresponding unit price will be available by fall 2024. Please call our Contact Center for details.
