Giving the Gift of Education

(November 26, 2024) - Traditions are often sentimental, full of fun, and build lasting memories with family and friends. One of my favorite holiday traditions occurs on Thanksgiving Day. I ask my kids to sit down and create a holiday wish list - complete with colorful holiday art decorating the margins. It started when my kids were little and decorated their wish list for Santa with holiday-themed pictures. I loved it so much that I asked them to keep up with the tradition of hand-written wish lists with hand-drawn art as they got older.

The Gift of Saving

(December 9, 2021) It has been quiet this Fall, with both our children away at college. I can’t wait for them to come home for the holidays! One of the first things we will do is attend my daughter’s college graduation! Emotions are mixed; We are extremely proud of her, but we don’t know what the future holds or where she will build her career. One thing we do know is that she will graduate with minimal student loan debt thanks to our savings efforts when she was young. Truly the best gift we have ever given her!

A Gift That Lasts A Lifetime

(September 27, 2021) Traditionally the holiday season is the period from Thanksgiving through the New Year. But unofficially, I believe it starts in October. That’s when the air is cool, sweaters are back on, and pumpkin spice, apple cider and mocha lattes are at the top of my must have beverage list. But no matter when it officially starts, it’s my favorite season of the year.
