Did you know 529 funds can be used for more than college? 529 plans can be used for a wide range of educational options including trade schools, technical training, apprenticeships, or college – worldwide. Once your student is enrolled in an eligible institution*, an apprenticeship, or a certificate program, You can easily request account distributions.
How to pay for school with GET

- Units need to be either:
- Lump sum units that have been held for two years after purchase, OR
- A custom monthly plan that has been paid in full
- Student must be enrolled in an eligible institution* of higher education, a certificate program, or a qualified apprenticeship program?
If you meet these eligibility criteria you can easily request account distributions.
- Units need to be either:
Request distributions online
- Log in to your GET account
- Select Use Units
- Review your available unit balance and click Request a new distribution to start the process.
- Follow the prompts
Request distributions via mail
You can request account distributions by downloading and mailing the appropriate paper form.
